The CLK Class makes up Mercedes-Benz's lineup of coupes and convertibles, embracing a racy style and free spirit. First introduced in 1997, subsequent redesigns included the first production V-6 engine, aggressive styling cues from the E-Class, and chassis components from the C-Class. The CLK Class comes in convertible (cabriolet) or coupe body styles. For 2008, the CLK350 now features a sport suspension and 18-inch wheels as standard equipment; the CLK550 model continues unchanged. A CLK63 AMG, also called the Black Series, will be available as a coupe. The CLK63 benefits from extensive re-engineering, including modified suspension components, lightweight 19-inch wheels and 14.2-inch brake discs clamped by multipiston AMG calipers.
